If I am vaccinated and I have close contact with someone that has tested positive for COVID 19 will I have to quarantine? Fully vaccinated players/coaches who are a close contact with a known COVID-19 case do not have to quarantine from sports or other activities, provided they remain asymptomatic after close contact with a known COVID-19 case and wear a mask until receiving a negative COVID-19 test (taken between days 3 and 5 from the date of contact) or 14 days without a test.
If I am un-vaccinated and I have close contact with someone that has tested positive for COVID 19 will I have to quarantine? Players/coaches who remain asymptomatic after close contact with a known COVID-19 case will need to quarantine for 10 days (with a negative test between days 7 and 10) or 14 days without a test.
Vaccinated and unvaccinated players/coaches who experience COVID-19 symptoms after close contact with a known COVID-19 case will need to quarantine for 10 days (with a negative test between days 7 and 10) or 14 days without a test.
If my child was notified by the school that they were in close contact with a person that tested COVID 19 positive, when can they come back?Based on the updates by CDC the quarantine period is 7-14 days depending on symptoms and/or Negative test at day 7. 10 days if no symptoms, and no Negative COVID test 7 Days if no symptoms AND a negative COVID test See this document for clarification
If my child was notified by the school that they were in close contact with a person that tested COVID 19 positive, can their sibling play soccer? Yes, as long as the player that had close contact is NOT displaying any symptoms, their sibling may play.
If my child was notified by the school that they were in close contact with a person that tested COVID 19 positive, can I still coach their team? Yes, as long as the player that had close contact is NOT displaying any symptoms, you may coach the team.
If I (as a parent) test positive when can my children return to soccer? Per State of CT guidelines, they must quarantine for 14 days, and no games or practices will be allowed.
If someone on my team came in close contact (at school, or family member tested positive) will my team be notified? No, unfortunately this is a privacy matter, and HIPPA laws regulate us from notifying the team of a quarantined player. Please keep in mind, just because a player is quarantined for close contact – this does not mean the player put your child at risk (as long as they are not showing symptoms, and have not tested positive).
Shouldn’t my team be notified if someone is quarantining due to close exposure? No, you would be notified directly if you are considered close contact with someone on your team that has tested positive for COVID 19, otherwise you will not be notified.
If a player or spectator has tested positive, can they return to the field? Yes, after 14 day quarantine, and symptom free. They are not required to tell anyone of their medical history.

If a player notifies you that they have come in contact with anyone who has tested positive what should they do? Close contact is within 6 feet for 15 minutes of more. Per State of CT guidelines, they must quarantine for 14 days, and no games or practices will be allowed.
What happens if a teammate tests positive for COVID, what will happen? Per CJSA rules, the entire team, and coaches must quarantine for 14 days, and no games or practices will be allowed. If that coach coaches any other teams, that entire team will also be quarantined for 14 days per CJSA rules. (The 10 and 7 days quarantine rules do not apply due to CJSA Rules for the entire team) If a player or coach is sent home with symptoms, can they return? Yes, when they have no fever, symptoms have improved, and they receive two negative test results in a row, at least 24 hours apart (CDC Guidelines)
What will practices and games look like this season? We will attempt to have practices and games “look” like they have in the past, while practicing social distancing requirements.
If I am a spectator will I have to wear a mask? No, We will follow CDC, CJSA and State Of Connecticut mask guidance.

Will the coach be taking my child’s temperature? No, it is mandatory that you ensure your child’s health. Will Coaches wear masks ?No, We will follow CDC, CJSA and State Of Connecticut mask guidance.
Will there be someone on the field to monitor the sidelines? No, as with CDC and State of Connecticut this will be an honor system.
Will there be team snacks or sportsmanship celebrations? No, Players will not huddle at any point during the game/practice. Sportsmanship will continue in a touchless manner – no handshakes/slaps/fist bumps after games. Suspend post-activity group snack.
How will warm up’s pre game work? As they have in past seasons, as a normal warm up.
Will SWSC perform contact tracing if a player tests positive? Yes, to a very local (team only) degree. Doctors are mandated to report the positive results of specific diseases to the State Health Department. The town has a Disease Surveillance System and they are notified of each positive case in the town of South Windsor automatically.
What will the town do once they have a confirmed case? The Town of South Windsor has certain protocols in place to reach out to infected persons, offer direction and assistance with supplies, they also follow up with them and ask for any and all people they have been in contact with. What is SWSC's refund policy? As a private non-profit club, your registration fees are directly applied to our soccer programming. Prior to the start of the season, the club incurs nonrefundable expenses on your child's behalf, therefore, we've established a two tiered refund policy to appropriately cover these costs and keep registration fees to a minimum: - Prior to the 1st Practice, refunds will be issued less a 10% processing fee and any club provided uniform cost (if applicable). - After 1st Game - no refund will be processed.
